Fast and robust detection of a small target in an infrared image is one the key techniques search track systems. The top-hat transformation important technology field detection. Many algorithms have been proposed to improve by modifying different structural elements. However, these methods can cause high false alarm rate under conditions dim targets, low signal-to-noise, complex background. To overcome this limitation, considering both performance speed, effective model using multidirectional elements article. First, nonconcentric ring are designed. Then, morphological with designed elements, background suppressed, enhanced directions. Finally, results transformations fused obtain final result, further highlighting target. experimental demonstrate method for various backgrounds targets. In addition, achieve speed up 10.4 ms per frame resolution 240 $ \times $ 320 pixels. Therefore, suitable real-time applications.
